MG, the British automotive company, has scheduled to launch its new electric SUV, ZS EV, by January 2020. So, you can start the pre-booking on December 5th, 2019. It is the second product that is brought by MG Motors in the Indian market.

Highlights:

• MG Motors to launch its electric SUV in only 5 cities of India.
• The dimensions of ZS EV will be identical to the MG ZS.
• It can take up to 7 hours with a standard 7kW charger and the range will be over 400km.

In comparison to the old version with the new launch, the “Star Rider” front grille, the London Eye headlamps, and the dimensions are just the same. The length of the e-SUV is 4.3m and the width is 1.8m. The gross vehicle weight is 1966kg. It has a big battery pack of 44.5kWh with the rapid charging feature. Having a capacity of 80% in 40-45 min. It provides a range of 263km in a single charge on the combined WLTP cycle.

It is expected to arrive with safety kits like Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Assist featuring automatic low-speed steering, Blind Spot Detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Pedestrian Alert Control System. The MG ZS EV is equipped with CCS Type 2 European standard connectors.

The carmaker has not revealed the specifications of its powertrain, however, it is likely to generate a power of 148bhp and 350Nm torque on front wheels. It will be available with Automatic Transmission. The stand-out feature of ZS EV is its 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it has an in-built air purifier to check the air quality in the cabin, the Panoramic sunroof gives the cabin an airy and premium feel.

The maintenance cost of EVs is lower than petrol or diesel vehicles so, it appears economical for the owner.
It has 2 variants- Excites and Exclusive. The colors in which it will be available are- Arctic White, Pimlico Blue, Black Pearl, and Dynamic Red.

As of now, MG Motor India will launch ZS EV in only five cities, namely, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The estimated price of the e-SUV is 25 lakhs in ex-showroom New Delhi.
